Flashback Friday

Keene, TX approx 1989

Keene, TX is a small town around 45 minutes South of Fort Worth. We spent a lot of time there when I was a kid. My Mother attended the college there for a couple of years and it was the home of a grocery store that carried vegetarian items that we ate most of my childhood (back before that kind of thing was readily available in every grocery store). We also used to attend a church gathering based here every year, and I remember eating watermelon at the park that lies behind me in this photo. In my memory, the weather was almost always perfect here. It was the kind of town that kids could walk up and down the street without any worries.
